Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) Alice Humphries is one of several new jazz composers/arrangers, who delightfully revive the old art of the big band leader with bold new concepts. Her complex compositions and arrangements are nothing short of jawdropping. Besides that, this album includes cover versions of one classic jazz song and two traditional folk tunes, which are reworked in an amazing way, putting them into a completely new light. Favorite track: Yotei.
